Creative industries in Prince Edward County consist of enterprising people with creative sensibilities. Prince Edward County was founded on people, enterprise and creativity. We have a thriving creative industry with diverse opportunities ready for the taking. A 2006 study for the Ontario Arts Council said the County has the most artists as a percentage of the local labour force than any other county outside Toronto. People who specialize in design or multi-media or film and video production have gravitated here to be surrounded by rural calm and a like-minded peer group. These people are using the internet to live their dream while catering to clients across the country. Enterprising people have already tethered here, and you’re invited to harness your creativity and come join us!
Meet Carlyn Moulton, Owner-Curator, Oeno Gallery
After being “seduced” by The County while looking for a cottage, Carlyn Moulton and her partner Barbara Basille, owners of Oeno Gallery found themselves buying property and turning their passion into their business.Oeno Gallery is located on the grounds of Huff Estates Winery, Oeno Gallery showcases artists from the region, across Canada and around the world.
Carlyn says one of the reasons they came to The County is because of its thriving art scene, noting that Prince Edward County has more artists per capita in Ontario than Toronto. Oeno Gallery is one of many destinations you can experience on The County’s Arts Trail.
