Meet Arnold and David, Universal Fan
Arnold Robb and David Skinkas defied convention when they started Universal Fan & Blower. Following changes at Canada Fan in Picton, where they were both employed, the friends decided to become business partners.
In 1988, they started what they hoped would become one of the world’s foremost companies in composite fan manufacturing, though corrosive metals were considered the only option at the time. Two decades later, the company has successfully created a reputation as being a leader in fiberglass centrifugal and axial fan technology. Universal Fan employs many local people at their Bloomfield factory and Arnold says they may grow again soon. While Arnold hails from Belfast and Dave from Manchester, neither says they have plans to ever leave Prince Edward County.
