Meet Anik Jivanjee of Picton’s Manor on Loyalist Parkway
Anik Jivanjee is quite a risk-taker for a man who considers himself a "conservative investor". The Toronto resident with a manufacturing background took a chance on Picton - a town he'd only visited a few times with his family - to take over a retirement residence - something he'd never done before. He bought Picton's Manor on Loyalist Parkway in 2000 and this past January opened a new wing four years in the making. He also plans an innovative new undertaking in the not-so-distant future: opening Prince Edward County's first Montessori School for young children, with the intention of having the residents of MLP become grandparent-like mentors for the students. MLP now boasts 37 rooms with a 95% occupancy rate.
