Commerce and industry in Prince Edward County consist of enterprising people with creative sensibilities. Prince Edward County was founded on people, enterprise and creativity. We have thriving commerce and industry communities with diverse opportunities ready for the taking. The County was settled by pioneering United Empire Loyalists over two centuries ago, and another wave of entrepreneurs and innovators are coming home. Professionals and consultants, those in elder care and many others are reaping high returns on their investments. Keep your clients from the city or sell to new markets internationally. Enterprising people have already tethered here, and you’re invited to harness your creativity and come join us!
Meet Alexandra Bake, most recently of Books & Company
Alexandra Bake has been a very busy woman since she moved to Prince Edward County in 2003. She recently closed her beloved Olivia & Company antique bookstore to merge with friends from Books on the Bay. The trio formed Books & Company, which celebrated its grand opening on Picton’s Main Street in February. Alex has also been overseeing three other heritage building renovations in Picton’s mid-town and the building of condominiums in a heritage style, across from the new Books & Co. Together with her family members and business partners, Alex has become (accidentally, she says) a key investor in commerce and industry on Picton’s Main Street.
