Angel Investors

An angel investor is a person who invests in a business venture, providing capital for start-up or expansion. They are usually are looking for a higher rate of return than would be gained from more traditional investments (around 25 percent or more). An angel investor is often looking for a personal opportunity as well as an investment and will want to play a role in mentoring and managing the company.

Venture Capitalists

Venture Capitalists are companies or individuals who provide investment capital, management expertise and experience. Most venture capital comes from a group of wealthy investors, investment banks and other financial institutions that pool such investments or partnerships. In return for investment, Venture Capitalists will take an equity position in the company, usually in proportion to the amount of their investment and the level of risk involved. The future return on their investment is tied to the performance of your company.
